My Priorities for CISD
CARE For Every Student in CISD
We have exceptionally talented and intelligent students and need the most effective strategies for developing individual strengths. I will continue to work for programs and initiatives to meet the needs of all students and encourage them to pursue exciting and rigorous goals.
Attract and Retain
Attract and Retain the best talent available, at all levels, with competitive compensation & benefits. We are fortunate to have many highly skilled and experienced teachers in our district. Our students deserve teachers who excel at motivating and inspiring them to realize their full potential. I will continue to review CISD policies and programs and offer insight based on years of professional experience creating healthy and productive work environments for businesses and employees.
Responsible Fiscal Stewardship
Responsible fiscal stewardship to ensure assets are managed efficiently and funds are spent wisely. School funding and appropriate spending are complex issues and one of the highest priorities of our district and board. I will apply my executive experience managing large complex budgets to evaluate strategies that address the challenges of our operational budget. I’ve served on Budget & Finance and Audit committees for the board and will continue to actively participate in the budget review process so that all expenditures are reflective of the community's goals for our district.
Engagement
Engagement with students, staff and the greater CISD community to build relationships and collect valuable input from our highly educated, successful community. With a background in employee engagement, communications, and customer service, I am passionate about the role of board members to represent all the voices of our students, staff, parents and taxpayers. I will work to ensure the CISD Board of Trustees continues to be highly engaged with CISD administration and the community it serves.
Safety and Security
Safety and Security for all our students is a top priority. Every parent wants to feel confident about their child’s safety when they send them off to school. It helps to know that the district leaders have been meticulous about solutions to address any threat. My leadership experience managing facilities and security, as well as developing business continuity plans and emergency response protocols will be an asset in the district’s collaboration with community leaders, police, and public safety staff as we align our efforts and resources to address these threats.
